Taylor turns 12

For Taylor's birthday, he wanted to have a few friends over for dinner and a movie. The boys had fun making their own pizzas, goofing around in our basement, and watching a movie. The cake I made for him is supposed to be a reel of movie film, but only one kid guessed what it was. Oh, well. It was a nice attempt anyway, and the cake tasted good which is really what matters. Taylor had a lot of fun, and everything went smoothly (thanks to my mom for taking care of the babies).

Snowman Fun

Taylor was so nice to entertain Carter one afternoon. They went out and made the cutest snowman. Carter was in heaven being outside. He's been inside most of the winter. Taylor is often a great big brother.

Four Months Old

It's hard to believe the twins are four months old. They still seems so little. Because they were born early, they still don't do all the things that typical four month olds do, but they are starting too. I'm just grateful that they are growing. Ethan was 13 pounds 8 ounces and Spencer was 11 pounds 6 ounces at their appointment. No wonder it is getting harder to walk up the stairs holding both of them. Together the are almost 25 pounds! Anyway, they are a lot of fun.

Grandpa Blair's birthday

We had a lot of fun on Grandpa Blair's birthday. He took us all to the Classic Fun center where the kids enjoyed bouncing and running around for hours. The next day Jeff and his Dad tried going to the cabin after church so they could go snowmobiling on Monday since the kids were out of school, but unfortunately there was too much snow and the machines kept getting stuck. The kids were bummed they couldn't go to the cabin, but we had a cabin breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa's house, and then watched a movie and had a snowball fight. It was a fun day in the end.

Taylor gets his first class

Taylor has been working hard at scouting. He seems to enjoy going each week and working on things. He just earned his first class before turning 12. He's earned some merit badges too, but his slacker mom has not sewed them on to his sash yet so he's not wearing them.

Emily's Belated Birthday

So we finally gave Emily a birthday party in February. Life was too crazy at the time of her birthday in December, as well as the month after. We seem to be getting a little better at balancing the babies and the rest of our lives, so we thought we could handle the party. Everything went well, and the little girls who came were all so nice. Best of all, Emily was happy. We did a Fancy Nancy party where we had a fancy lunch, and made some crafts. The girls all came dressed in their "fancy" party clothes. It was really cute.

So I have had a little fun dressing up the babies lately. Taylor has told me that they aren't Barbie dolls for me to dress up, but he doesn't understand because he's a boy. Anyway, we have been given so fun outfits, so I had to try all of them. Sometimes Ethan and Spencer were not happy about being dressed up, but most of the time they cooperated. Thank you to all of you who gave us these outfits.
