Science Fair

Taylor participated in our school science fair this past week. I was proud of him for wanting to do it since it was an optional thing that the 4th-6th graders could do. All of the work had to be done at home, but he wanted to do it. He created a fork light with a battery, wires and a light bulb. Jeff helped him do it since he's better at building stuff than I am. Anyway, it looked good in the end.

Round'n them up!

Emily just went to Kindergarten Round Up. If you don't have that where you are, it's a time when all the prospective kindergarteners go to a meeting at the school and get to see what kindergarten will be like. Our school goes all out, decorating the whole school according to the theme of the year. This year's theme was "sports" so there were all sorts of sport activities displayed on the walls of the school. Emily loved it. I can't believe she's almost ready to be in school. She's growing up too fast.

Sail Away!

We had fun at Taylor's Blue and Gold Banquet/Raingutter Regatta. It has been quite the experience being the Cub Master considering I never attended Cub Scouts as a kid. Anyway, Jeff is a great help every time we have an activity. He built and set up our raingutter track so we could do this activity. Everyone had fun, even Taylor. I was a bit concerned when he lost his first race and the tears were almost there, but he won the next one so the activity was a success. Anyway, here a couple pictures.

Five for Five

Well, Ashley has strep again. This makes five times in five months. I can't wait until the tonsils come out!

Breaking for Fun!

Well, Spring Break ended about a week and a half ago, and I think I have finally recovered. Spring Break translates to more work for mom, but it was fun work so it's all good. It also gives moms a glimpse into life as it will be in a few months when summer begins. I still can't believe it is getting so close. Anyway, I didn't run away screaming by the end of the week, so I think I may be able to make it this summer. It was actually fun having the older kids home because they played with the younger ones. We weren't home very much, but when we were home I seemed to have a little extra time on my own - go figure. A lot of what we did during the week involved going to kids museums, hiking (walking around a pond), going to the zoo, going swimming, and visiting the library.
