Right after the girls' dance performance, we went back to the house to make candy houses. Jeff and I figured that since we had the grandparents with us, we might as well enlist their help with this endeavor. It is a tradition for our family to make candy houses every year around Christmas. This year our life had been rather crazy, so I didn't know if we would get to it or not. At the same time, because our life had been crazy due to the babies, I wanted to try and maintain some of our traditions for the older kids. They needed to have some fun things to do too. Well, it turned out to be successful. In Kansas we'd gotten together with our friends the Christensens to do this for at least four or five or our nine years there, and we all missed them this time around. At the same time, it was a lot less chaotic because we had only five kids to make houses for instead of ten, and we had six adults instead of four. One adult had to take care of the twins, but the rest of us were able to man the frosting and kid help rather easily. It was a great day.

Yes, it was a great day. The girls were beautiful in their dance recital and we had fun making the candy houses. Every one was different, and they were all very creative. Grandma Koller
