Two weeks after Ethan came home, Spencer also got to come home. Ethan spent 11 days in the hospital and Spencer spent 24 days. He came home on November 15th, much to our and the doctor's surprise. After spending one week completely sedated, and one week on IV feeding, Spencer finally got a feeding tube. They started working with him to see if he could eat from a bottle, but he was too sleepy because he was still on pain killers. The doctors tried to wean him off gradually, but he still wouldn't wake up. They finally decided to take him off cold turkey and just give him a little if he showed signs of withdrawal. Well, he did great, and once he was off the drugs he woke up and started eating. It was surprising to me to think he was coming home because he ate from a bottle for the first time on a friday, graduated to a crib and nursed for the first time on the following monday, and then was told he could go home on Tuesday. We didn't actually go home until Wednesday because he had to pass a carseat test (maintain his oxygen level for 45 minutes while sitting in a carseat.) Anyway, he also came home on oxygen, and I was nervous that he wasn't ready to come home, but he did great. He weighed 5 pounds when he came home. Having two babies home on oxygen was a bit interesting. There were times Jeff and I would get the oxygen tubes tangled up at night while we were walking around with the babies. One time we actually had to walk around each other multiple times to unwind the tubes. It was quite funny.

It's so fun to see these pictures and realize how much bigger both the babies are.
